The Mystic Krewe of Olympia, founded in 1965 by a group of local friends, brings the vibrant spirit of New Orleans-style parades to the Covington community. With a mission to engage and entertain, the krewe has grown to approximately 100 members, creating a beloved annual celebration of Mardi Gras.
In addition to its festive parades, the Krewe of Olympia supports local philanthropy through the MKO Foundation, which raises funds for community first responders and non-profits. Notable events, like the Blue Jeans Ball Battle of the Bands, have successfully contributed over $50,000 to local beneficiaries, reinforcing the organization's commitment to the Covington area.
