St. Joseph Hospice, located in Baton Rouge, La., is a locally owned and operated hospice program. It provides 24-hour hospice care services through board-certified hospice and palliative care physicians. Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?Gastroenterology is a unique field of medicine which provides the opportunity to assist patients by combining both analytical problem solving during clinic visits, as well as visually through performing endoscopies. I attribute my passion for my career in this foundation and in having the privilege to take care of patients on a daily basis and allowing them to feel at ease to discuss their concerns and address their needs.Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?I enjoy the variety of health concerns in gastroenterology, including GERD, peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease, functional GI disease, as well as colon cancer screening and disease prevention.
