While pursuing my doctorate degree in nursing, my interest in medical research made me more aware of the health disparities in male populations. Through active listening and thoughtful questioning, I realized that men often lack motivation for seeking healthcare. This commonly leads to long term health issues. She received her Bachelor of Science degree at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and then received her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans.
