El Chico Caf is a restaurant chain that specializes in Mexican cuisine. Its story began in 1926, when Adelaida Cuellar's homemade tamales drew huge crowds at a small county fair. In 1940, her sons opened a cafe in Dallas that served enchiladas prepared by using their mother's recipes. Since then, the group has grown to a chain that owns, operates and franchises more than 100 restaurants throughout the South and Canada. The chain s menu includes a variety of fajitas, tacos, burritos, desserts, appetizers and salads. Its restaurants feature a selection of wines, including cabernet, chardonnay, zinfandel and merlot. El Chico Caf s signature line of products, The Top Shelf, offers a variety of enchiladas, quesadillas and margaritas.
