Capoeira New Orleans is the first contemporary Capoeira group on the Gulf Coast, established in December 2006 under the guidance of Mestrando Cocada. As a nonprofit organization, they are dedicated to offering free Capoeira classes to the general public while promoting Brazilian cultural arts in the local community.
The organization also engages in philanthropic efforts to support both New Orleans and Brazil, encouraging donations to further enhance their students' practices. Through their classes and events, they strive to mentor youth and cultivate the art of Capoeira among adults.
