MedCamps of Louisiana is a non-profit organization founded in 1987 by Dr. Michael F. Zambie, dedicated to improving the health and wellness of individuals with chronic illnesses and disabilities through unique recreational and educational camping experiences. With a mission to provide medically supervised residential camps at no charge, MedCamps aims to foster growth in the physical, social, and emotional aspects of young participants' lives, promoting normalcy, confidence, and independence.

Since its inception, MedCamps has experienced significant growth, expanding from serving 13 children with severe asthma and allergies to over 450 children with various chronic illnesses.
