The Cajun French Music Association (CFMA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving Cajun music and various aspects of Acadian heritage. Founded in November 1984 in Basile, Louisiana, by Harry LaFleur of Eunice, the CFMA has grown from fewer than 30 members to approximately 2,000 families across seven chapters in Louisiana and three chapters in Southeast Texas.
Through its initiatives, the CFMA aims to celebrate the power of Cajun music and foster a deeper appreciation for Cajun culture. The organization serves both Cajuns and non-Cajuns, highlighting the rich traditions and musical heritage of the region.
