He had surgery to remove the diseased bone, and while in the hospital, he got inspired to start a business to make ball fields safer, so other kids wouldn't have to go through what he did.So, he started that business even before he could drive a car. After years of hard work, he grew the business to build/renovate/maintain ball fields in 5 states - it was his mission.In 1994, his first baby was born, Katherine. But, he had to spend several weeks in Nashville building a soccer field for their professional team. While in the hotel at night, John kept wondering what he could do to "stay home."
