Spotlight Acting School
Spotlight Acting School is a nurturing theater school dedicated to children aged 4 to 18, offering a vibrant space for exploring the world of performing arts. Founded by Kathie JR Bettler and now led by Executive Director Chad Hembree, the school has blossomed into a hub of creativity, expanding its student body from 25 to 200 members.
Embracing inclusivity, Spotlight Acting School warmly welcomes children with special needs, ensuring a sense of belonging for every student. The school’s commitment extends to establishing ‘Spotlight Performing Arts, Inc.’ as a Not-for-Profit in 2014, supporting fundraising efforts to uphold the promise of never turning away a student.
In 2022, under Chad’s guidance, the school introduced ‘pay-what-you-can’ tickets on Fridays, enhancing accessibility and enriching the local community’s theatrical experience. As Spotlight Acting School commemorates 20 years of theatrical magic, it continues to shape young performers and audiences, honoring a legacy of transformative performances and fostering a deep love for the stage.
