History

In 1969, two brothers and their close friend decided to leave their roots in eastern Kentucky and move to Louisville to build a better life and a brighter future. This dream began with pairing a small business loan and their expertise on Volkswagen repair. They rented a space from an existing auto shop and their vision for St. Matthews Imports was born. Their success in automotive repair in Louisville grew and quickly established a reputation for the city's top choice for high-quality repair. Today, more than 45 years later, the St. Matthews Imports brand has grown to four locations with expertise in auto repair, collision, and marine repair and sales. We continue to be a family-owned and operated company with the second generation in full control of business operations. We provide a full range of diagnostic and repair services at competitive prices for both import and domestic vehicles to help ensure long-term strong performance and safety.
