The Franklin County Health Department, located in Frankfort, Ky., provides a range of health care services to the area community. The department operates a clinic that provides a number of services, such as pediatrics; cancer screening services, including cervical, breast and prostrate; immunizations; family planning; and tuberculosis. Its other services include prenatal; women, infants and children; nutritional counseling; sexually transmitted disease; oral health; and home care services. The department also has an environmental health section and its staff inspects and investigates in more than 35 project-reporting areas, such as restaurants, public buildings, vending machines, frozen food lockers, and hotels and motels.
