Roederer Correction Complex

The Roederer Correctional Complex is a state-run correctional center in LaGrange, Ky. The facility opened in 1976, as a 150-bed, minimum-security work camp. Roederer has undergone two transitions since then, becoming a medium-security institution in 1987 and transforming in 1989 to the assessment and classification center for all of the Kentucky Department of Corrections incoming state prisoners. Roederer consists of 710 medium-security beds, of which 100 are for permanently assigned inmates who provide support services for the institution, such as food service, laundry, grievance office and janitorial service. The facility s remaining 600 beds are for inmates entering the system as part of the Assessment Center. The Roederer Correctional Complex is accredited by the American Correctional Association.
