Elizabeth Archer-Nanda, APRN, is a board-certified psychiatric clinical nurse specialist with Norton Cancer Institute's Behavioral Oncology Program. She has completed specialized training in dignity therapy, a psychological intervention designed to address psychological, existential and spiritual challenges cancer patients and their families often face. Archer-Nanda's professional memberships include the American Psychosocial Oncology Society, the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the Hosparus medical advisory board.

Don Stevens, M.D., one of the founders of Norton Cancer Institute, is a fellowship-trained hematologist/oncologist who earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency. He completed his fellowship at John Hopkins University, Baltimore, Md. and is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. Dr. Stevens is passionate about research has led many clinical trials at Norton Healthcare, bringing leading-edge hematology and cancer treatments to Louisville-area patients. In 2017, he was one of only two physicians in the country to enroll patients in a national clinical trial study for a new lymphoma treatment, and in 2020, led studies on convalescent plasma and was the first in the world to test the cancer drug selinexor as treatment for patients with severe cases of COVID-19. He specialized in blood cancers, including leukemia, myeloma and lymphomas and has developed Norton Cancer Institute’s program in cellular treatment for cancers. Dr. Stevens has received numerous awards, including the 2019 Commitment to Compassion award by the Partnership for a Compassionate Louisville and was named one of 2016 Louisville Magazine’s “Top Docs.” In 2020, he was inducted into the Kentucky Society of Clinical Oncology (KYSCO) Hall of Fame.

Ricardo Herrera, M.D., is a neurologist and headache medicine specialist with Norton Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Herrera earned his medical degree from Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, University Park, Florida. He completed his residency in neurology at Larkin Community Hospital South Miami, Florida, and a fellowship in headache medicine at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine, Florida. Dr. Herrera’s patient care philosophy centers on empathy, thorough assessment and individualized treatment. He believes that understanding each patient’s unique experience is crucial, as headaches can deeply impact their daily lives. Dr. Herrera prioritizes open communication, actively listening to his patients’ concerns and tailoring treatment plans to fit their specific needs and lifestyles. By integrating the latest research with compassionate care, Dr. Herrera strives to empower his patients with knowledge and tools to manage their headaches effectively and improve their overall quality of life.
