Dr. Garlove is a Louisville, Ky., native who attended Ballard High School. In 1993, she earned bachelor's degrees in English and psychology from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Upon graduating, Dr. Garlove went to work for the University of Louisville Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. During that time, she obtained a Master of Education degree in counseling psychology, but found she also loved the practice of medicine. Dr. Garlove received her medical degree in 2003 from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Shortly after graduating from medical school, Dr. Garlove took a year away from her training to care for her newborn daughter. When she returned to work, it was as a pediatric resident at Norton Children's Hospital. Her second child was born during her residency, and her third once she was in private practice. Dr. Garlove completed her residency and received her board certification from the American Board of Pediatrics in 2007 and recertification in 2017. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Greater Louisville Medical Society, the Kentucky Pediatric Society and the Kentucky Medical Association. She currently serves on the board of directors of the Children's Hospital Foundation and is actively involved in the parent association at her children’s school. Her interests include photography, reading, cooking and traveling. She lives with her husband and children, 2 dogs and 1 cat. Dr. Garlove has been voted by her peers as one of Louisville Magazine’s Top Docs for 2019.
