Morehead Utility Plant Board

Established in 1950, the Morehead Utility Plant Board (MUPB) is a part of the municipal government of the City of Morehead. It provides gas, water, sewer services and maintenance to the city. Based in Morehead, Ky., the department owns and operates the MUPB water plant, which treats and purifies water per day (MGD). Its wastewater plant is an activated sludge process and it treats approximately 3.5 MGD of domestic and industrial waste before discharging into the Licking River. The Morehead Utility Plant Board caters to over 10,000 customers across the City of Morehead.
