Brooklawn Child & Family Services, founded in 1851, is a private, nonprofit Kentucky corporation offering a wide range of residential and community-based treatment programs for children with serious emotional disturbances and their families. Brooklawn also operates an accredited special education school in collaboration with the public school system. Its residential programs serve emotionally and behaviorally troubled boys between 6- to 18-years of age. The center also provides case management, out-patient therapy and in-home support services to children of all ages and their families. Its staff includes board-certified psychiatrists, clinical social workers, an art therapist, psychological associates, marriage and family therapists, nurses, special education teachers, recreation leaders, a chaplain and child care staff. Brooklawn Child & Family Services is approved by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services, and is located in Louisville, Ky.

Barret Traditional Middle School serves more than 500 students in grades six through eight. The school s academic program includes various subjects, including math, science, social studies, health and technology education, art and foreign languages. The school employs counselors who assist students with scheduling, educational planning, interpretation of test scores, career information, as well as home, school and personal concerns. The counselors provide personal and social development, educational and career counseling, crisis intervention and referrals to community agencies. Barret Traditional Middle School also organizes a range of sports programs and enrichment activities. The middle school has its campus in Louisville, Ky.
