The Lexington Humane Society (LHS) cares for 5,000 homeless, abandoned, and rescued animals every year. As a non-profit humane agency completely reliant upon private donations, grants, and community support, the amount of funds LHS is able to raise directly impacts the number of animals assisted. In 2017, thanks to generous donor support, LHS was able to rescue nearly 1,300 animals from crisis situations in smaller communities. In the coming year, LHS hopes to reach out and rescue at least this number as the Society works to end the euthanasia of adoptable animals in Kentucky. LHS is Central Kentucky’s largest pet adoption agency adopting out nearly 5,000 animals each year. Yearly they also provide over 3,500 free and low-cost spay/neuter surgeries to animals in and around their community and educate over 2,000 individuals through educational camps, school outreach, and shelter tours. LHS cares for an average of 300 homeless animals every day; they have an exceptional save rate of 98% for animals in their care; and their concentrated efforts have reduced Lexington’s homeless pet population by nearly 50% in less than a decade. For more information, please contact the team at Lexington Humane Society today at (859) 233-0044 or visit them online. You can also follow them on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for details on rescued animals.

They are good at helping somone find the right animal for the right person. I just called to see if they would help me get my cat bathed and they said no. So, do they bathe their own cats???

They are a kill shelter and try to hide it. Theyll say they euthanize for "behavioral issues." what animal in a shelter doesn't have behavioral issues?? If it's not aggressive you shouldn't...
