Founded in 1855, Berea College is an educational institution that offers a variety of learning opportunities to students. It provides undergraduate academic programs in law, medicine, theology, education, art and science. The college maintains a library that has a selection of journals and electronic resources. Berea College operates a child development laboratory, geology museum and science facilities. The college maintains biology, history, art, chemistry, nursing, music, and economics and business departments. It offers classes in sociology, political science, physics, and technology and industrial arts. Berea College also provides programs and courses in business administration, philosophy, speech communication, and African and African-American studies. It offers various athletic activities, such as baseball, basketball, cross-country, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, and track and field.
