Dr. James (Jed) Moyer is one of only a handful of non-operative pediatric orthopedists in the nation. Dr. Moyer evaluates, diagnoses, and treats clubfoot, gait abnormalities, hip dysplasia, limb pain, and many other pediatric musculoskeletal conditions. He is board certified in pediatrics Dr. Moyer earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, completed a general pediatric residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, and then a Fellowship in Non-operative Pediatric Orthopedics here at Children’s Orthopedics of Louisville in 2014. He has been with the group since. Dr. Moyer’s mission is to provide optimal musculoskeletal evaluation and treat as many patients as possible with nonsurgical care. He attempts to bridge any gaps that may exist between primary care and a subspecialty and treat ‘the whole patient’ Dr. Moyer is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Sports Medicine and Fitness, and the Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine Society. He is married to Dr. Sarah Moyer, M.D., currently the Director of the Health Department for Louisville Metro. They have 3 boys and are expecting their first girl this march. When he is away from the office, he enjoys playing basketball, guitar, and spending time with his family. He played 4 years of Div III college football at Moravian College in Pennsylvania, and remains a die hard Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Away from the office Dr. Meier enjoys playing golf and softball as well as spending time with his family. Dr. Meier also enjoys traveling for mission work, providing pediatric orthopedic care for international charities such as Healing the Children. His travels have taken him to Colombia, Ecuador and, most recently, Haiti following the 2010 earthquake.

Jennifer Brey, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in pediatric orthopedics. Dr. Brey earned her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at the Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee. In addition to offering a full range of orthopedic care for children, Dr. Brey has special interests in pediatric sports injuries and trauma. Dr. Brey’s mission is to help children return to their preinjury function as quickly as possible while working with families to reduce the chance of future injury. She works closely with therapists, trainers and coaches to reduce sports injuries among children and adolescents. Dr. Brey aims to treat patients with nonsurgical care when possible, but does perform arthroscopic surgeries when needed. Dr. Brey is on staff at Norton Children’s Hospital and Norton Children’s Medical Center. She also has a clinical faculty appointment with the University of Louisville School of Medicine Department of Orthopedic Surgery. She is currently the medical provider for the Western High School Warriors athletic teams. She is a founding member of the Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine (PRiSM) society and is active in research regarding meniscus tears, ACL injuries, cartilage injuries, and knee fractures in pediatric and adolescent athletes. Many of Dr. Brey’s former patients are now playing or have played at the high school and collegiate levels. A native of Louisville, Dr. Brey has been practicing in her hometown since 2011. Away from the office, she and her family enjoy UofL athletics, where Dr. Brey earned four varsity letters in swimming. Dr. Brey is a member of U.S. Masters Swimming and USA Triathlon. She is a multiple-time Ironman finisher and competed at the Ironman World Championships in 2022.
