Housing Opportunities of Northern Kentucky (HONK) is a faith-based non-profit organization dedicated to helping families and individuals achieve homeownership through the rehabilitation of existing homes and the construction of new ones. With over 30 years of experience, HONK utilizes volunteer labor and generous donations to keep housing costs affordable, providing one-on-one counseling to prepare households for the responsibilities of homeownership.

First Step Home

For more than 15 years, First Step Home Inc. has been an agency that provides individual and group substance abuse counseling for women and children. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, the agency provides access to medical services, mental health assessments, life skills training, financial counseling, on-site child care, twelve step meetings and connections to job readiness programs. The programs help women become self-sufficient and gain the ability to live a drug-free life with their children. For children aged 0 to 12 who live with their mothers at the facility, the center offers a comprehensive child and family development program. After the treatment women can move into transitional housing, supervised by First Step Home Inc.
