Trevor B. Fain, M.D., is a general surgeon with Norton Surgical Specialists. He earned his medical degree from the UofL School of Medicine and completed his residency in general surgery at Baptist Health in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Dr. Fain provides comprehensive surgical care, specializing in gall bladder surgery, hernia repair, colon surgery, stomach and small bowel surgery, as well as skin and soft tissue procedures. He is trained in robotic, laparoscopic and open surgical techniques, offering patients a wide range of advanced options tailored to their needs. His patient care philosophy centers on providing the highest level of care from the initial consultation through recovery. He believes in open communication and ensuring that patients feel involved, informed and supported throughout their surgical journey. Outside of medicine, Dr. Fain enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. In his free moments, he often can be found golfing or watching movies with his family.

Chad E. Smith, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon with Norton Orthopedic Institute and Norton Sports Health. Dr. Smith earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Toledo Medical Center, Ohio, and a sports medicine fellowship at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Dr. Smith treats patients of all ages and activity levels, providing comprehensive, quality care through a variety of surgical and nonsurgical treatment options. He has advanced training and expertise in arthroscopic management of the knee and shoulder and performs robotic-assisted knee replacement surgery. Dr. Smith serves as a team physician for several major local universities and has treated high school athletes in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky for over 15 years. Dr. Smith grew up in Oldham County, Kentucky, just outside of Louisville.
