During her education, she developed an interest in the sciences and solving complex problems, while finding joy in giving back to her community at her hometowns hospital.Dr. Stevens focus moved to pediatric pulmonology as a fourth-year medical student. An elective in pediatric pulmonology, which she thoroughly enjoyed, helped steer the course. She was exposed to a broad range of pulmonary disease pathology, including asthma, during her pediatric residency.She finds working with children the most rewarding and enjoyable. Because some pulmonary diseases are life-long or chronic, she enjoys the ability to build lasting relationships with patients and their families.Dr. Stevens is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics and pediatric pulmonology. She is a member of the American Medical Association, American Thoracic Society, and American Academy of Pediatrics.When she isnt caring for her patients, she spends time with her husband and their two treeing walker coonhounds they rescued.
