E. D. Piercefield started Piercefield Corporation in 1954. His objective was to produce building components for homes and garages in his mill so structures could be erected on-site at minimal cost. Prefabrication proved to be a cost-effective method of construction and soon other builders were asking him to build panels and trusses. Piercefield Corporation is the oldest wood component manufacturer and supplier to builders in northern Kentucky. Its products include trusses, wall panels, rim boards, headers and beams, I-joists, gable extensions and connectors.
