Norton Women’s Care offers a complete range of services with an emphasis on caring for the whole woman — mind, body and spirit. Services focus on the health and wellness of women at all stages of life — adolescence, pregnancy, motherhood, midlife and beyond. More women choose Norton Women’s Care at Norton Hospital and Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital to deliver their babies than any other facility in the region. Specialty services include full gynecologic care; pelvic health program; obstetrics, including high-risk pregnancy care; newborn care with access to Level III and IV neonatal intensive care units; cancer prevention and treatment, including a comprehensive breast health program; a dedicated women’s heart and vascular care, education and support program; a bone health program addressing osteoporosis, rheumatology and prevention of other orthopedic diseases; and Norton Women’s Mental Health Services for evaluation and treatment of issues including depression, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, infertility and menopause. Dr. How is a former professor from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where she served as director of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program. Dr. How earned her medical degree from Far Eastern University, Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation in Manila, Philippines. She completed residency programs in obstetrics and gynecology at the United States' Clark Air Force Base Regional Medical Center in the Philippines and also at the University of Louisville. Dr. How completed her fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Louisville. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine and provides research support for the high-risk pregnancy program.

Kathryn Melvin, APRN, CNM, is a nurse practitioner and nurse midwife. She earned her master’s degree in nursing and her certification as a nurse midwife and women’s health nurse practitioner from Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut. Kathryn specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. She works with women ages 13 to 85 to provide prenatal and postnatal care, labor and delivery services, and routine gynecologic care. Her focus areas are depression and anxiety in pregnancy and diabetes in pregnancy.
