Boyd County Middle School

Johnson County Middle School offers a variety of educational and enrichment programs for students in grades seven and eight. The school s curriculum includes mathematics, science and technology, language arts, English, health education, social studies, arts and crafts, music, and physical education. It also offers various sport programs, including basketball, cheerleading, swimming, football, and athletics. Its Family Resource and Youth Services Center offers a wide variety of programs and services that focus on employment counseling, training and placement, health and social services, summer and part-time job development, substance abuse counseling, and family crisis and mental health counseling. Located in Paintsville, Ky., Johnson County Middle School serves the educational needs of more than 550 students. The school is a part of the Johnson County Schools.

Opened in 2003, Sacred Heart Grade School is a Catholic educational facility that serves students in kindergarten through grade five. The school is operated under Sacred Heart Parish and the Wheeling-Charleston Diocese. Located in Charleston, W.Va., Sacred Heart Grade School is approved by the West Virginia State Board of Education and accredited by the North Central Association. It operates a parent-volunteer association that organizes assistance programs, information sessions and enrichment activities. The association also raises funds for cafeteria supplies, library resources, playground equipment, homeroom activities and field trips. Sacred Heart Grade School s curriculum includes English, spelling, science and social studies. It also provides classes in computer applications, library skills, music and physical education.
