Barn Lot Theatre
History
1980-Barn Lot Theater had its first production at MARC Park. An outdoor summer theater, Barn Lot's first ever production was Barefoot in the Park, which was followed by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Arsenic and Old Lace. All three plays were done in July on a 64 foot stage with a 32' by 14' insert. 1981-Barn Lot's season expanded to include concerts, featuring The Spirituals, Sweet Adelines and the Country Gentlemen. 1982- For the first (and only) time, Barn Lot debuted an original play: I Love You Truly, Trigger. 1983- Barn Lot received grants BRADD and KAC for guest artists consultant Dr. Lou Dezseran, who worked on renovation, repair and construction of a light system. 1986- MARC Park built a gym and, with permission to use it. 1991- This year marked a milestone-- we got our building! The old Ford garage was purchased on March 6th in part from a grant from the Kentucky Bicentennial Commission. A pledge drive helped meet the needed $20,000. Find out more at barnlottheater.org

Barn Lot Theater is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization founded on the principle that affordable, quality theatrical entertainment shall be presented to the community utilizing local talent of all ages. Barn Lot Theater provides lifelong learning opportunities, and fosters creative expression through these productions with a predilection for the youth of South Central Kentucky.
