Founded by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, Maryhurst is one of the leading providers of social services in the United States. Located in Anchorage, Ky., the agency has been operational for more than 100 years. A nonprofit organization, it provides educational, community-based and therapeutic services to more than 20,000 people annually. Maryhurst works in cooperation with several community partners and local and state child care agencies. The agency also provides on-campus residential programs, neighborhood-based activities, after school care and treatment programs for victims of sexual, physical and emotional abuse. Approved by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services, it is affiliated with the Children's Alliance. Additionally, Maryhurst provides therapeutic services, foster care and adoption solutions and specialized services.
