The Appalachian College Association is a non-profit consortium of 33 private four-year liberal arts institutions located in the Appalachian mountains of Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. Governed by a board comprised of the presidents of member institutions, the ACA supports collaborative programs to enhance students' educational experiences and promote cooperation among member colleges.
Through initiatives like faculty fellowships, library grants, and student opportunities, the ACA aims to provide higher education opportunities for individuals in Appalachia while fostering scholarly and creative activities among faculty and students. By facilitating collaboration and resource-sharing, the Association strives to optimize institutional resources and enrich the academic landscape of the region.
