Algood Food Company was the first private label peanut manufacturer to have a fully staffed in-house microbiological lab. The company is a packer of private label peanut butter, jellies and preserves. It tailors programs to any customer s needs, regardless of size or distribution channel. Algood Food Company s private label retail customers include chains, wholesalers and major buying cooperatives. It began business at its Louisville, Ky. headquarters in 1985, primarily packing private-label peanut butter. In 1993, the company began production of jellies and preserves. Algood expanded its markets to include industrial, food service, export and contract manufacturing and the United States Government. Algood s export markets include Europe, the Middle East, the Caribbean and the Pacific Basin.
