Hira Waseem, MD
Hira Waseem, M.D., is a pediatric psychiatrist with Norton Children’s Behavioral & Mental Health, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan, and completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She then specialized further with fellowships in child/adolescent psychiatry at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, and the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where she also completed a fellowship in addiction psychiatry. Dr. Waseem employs a collaborative approach to care, focusing on treating children, adolescents and individuals who are struggling with mental health issues and addiction. Outside of work, she finds joy in creating psycho-education content for Hindi and Urdu speakers on her social media channels. She also enjoys dancing, running and serving her community.
Amber L Pendleton, MD
Amber L. Pendleton, M.D., is a pediatrician with Norton Children’s Medical Group – Novak Center. Dr. Pendleton earned her medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Lexington. She completed her internship in pediatrics at University of Virginia Medical School, and her residency in pediatrics at University of Virginia Medical Center, both in Charlottesville. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Pendleton also is an associate professor at the University of Louisville School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics Division of General Pediatrics. Dr. Pendleton’s clinical and research interests focus on community pediatrics, mental and behavioral health, treating children with complex health needs, and those in the LGBTQ+ and ally communities. She believes that to provide optimal care for children, we must support their comprehensive health needs, which includes supporting the family and helping them best connect with their community.
