Worth is a 501 (c ) 3 non-profit with evidence-based programs that treat warriors and their families. We believe that every military family has the right and ability to heal and that healing happens best in the outdoors. We are proud to be one of few organizations with programs serving veterans/active service members, the entire family, and service members returning from deployment and their teenage children. We have identified and are currently filling multiple gaps in programmatic care for veterans, active service members, and their families. After a deployment or simply getting out of the military, warriors and their families often struggle to transition into a “new normal” after service or deployment. Faced with higher rates of unemployment, addiction, suicide, and other challenges, military families too often fight their battles alone. Warriors have a 50% higher risk of dying by suicide than civilians. Active duty suicide rates have reached an all-time high since 2012, and 123 military spouses succumbed to suicide in 2017. Warriors and their families who join us for our FREE, once-in-a-lifetime outdoor adventures programs leave with a new community and tools to help them address the challenges they face.
