Wood Re New

History

Wood Re New was started as Wood Brite in Springfield, MO in 1993. Stan and Sonja Krempges were part owners of a fence company and the idea came from their customers asking what they could do to keep the fences preserved and looking nice. The early development of an environmentally safe cleaner, which we still use today, was the biggest key to the growth of Wood Brite. The scope of work naturally evolved into decks, docks and wood siding along with fences. In 2001, with multiple regional outlets already in place, the Krempges decided to pursue franchising as a way to further growth. The name was changed to Wood Re New, and the company owned locations were sold as more franchisees were added. Bret Sanford and Matt McPherson purchased a franchise for Shawnee and Douglas counties in 2007. We had been with our previous employers for 23 and 25 years respectively and saw this as an opportunity to provide this type of service to our area, focusing on being the trusted, insured professionals.

Specialties

Wood Re New provides services cleaning and protecting exterior wood, using our own private label products. We are a fully insured franchisee of the largest deck restoration company in America, owned and operated by 2 lifelong residents of northeast Kansas. Shawnee and Douglas counties are our main work areas, but we do travel throughout this part of the state. The bulk of our work is on decks, fences and wood siding. Our process usually involves just 2 steps. First we apply our environmentally safe cleaner, which allows us to wash the dirt and dead wood fiber away with lower pressure water than would otherwise be needed. Then, usually the next day, we spray on and back brush into the wood a penetrating semi-transparent protectant. This product contains repellents for both water and light, a toner and mildew inhibitor. If a coating type stain product (not paint) has been previously applied we can also usually remove this with the aid of our stripper, which we typically brush on.
