Pioneer Electric Cooperative is a team of more 50 professionals that serve the cooperative s member-owners and communities. The cooperative has been in service for more than 60 years. Pioneer Electric serves approximately 15,000 retail electric meters spread throughout 10 counties in southwestern Kansas. The system covers more than 215 miles of transmission line, 3,400 miles of distribution line and more than 15 substations. Pioneer Electric s electricity is generated in Holcomb, Kan., by Sunflower Electric Power Corporation, which is owned by Pioneer Electric, as well as other Kansas electric cooperatives. Pioneer Electric is active as an owner within Kansas Electric Cooperatives, a statewide organization that supports cooperatives in such areas as governmental relations, apparatus testing, loss control and safety, regulatory compliance, communications, education and training, legal assistance, rural television and management consulting. The company is also a part owner of High Plains Energy, a provider of propane delivery services in western Kansas and parts of Oklahoma.

Lane-Scott Electric Cooperative Inc. is a rural electric cooperative located in Dighton, Kan. The cooperative provides electrical power to more than 5,900 services in the Lane, Scott, Gove, Ness, Finney, Logan, Hodgeman and Rush counties in Western Kansas. Its system is made up of over 40 miles of 34.5-sub transmission line, more than 2,000 miles distribution line and over eight substations. Lane-Scott Electric Cooperative Inc. is a participant and member of Kansas Electric Cooperatives Inc. (KEC). It also provides electric wiring and contracting services for farm/feedlot, residential, commercial, industrial, new heating, ventilating and air conditioning installations and appliance repairs.
