The Fort Harker Guardhouse Museum Complex in Kanopolis, Kansas, showcases the rich history of Fort Harker, which operated from 1866 to 1873. Managed by the Ellsworth County Historical Society, the complex preserves four buildings made from native Dakota sandstone, including the noteworthy restored Guard House, which features a small museum exhibit.
Adjacent to the Guard House lies the historic 1905 Kanopolis Union Pacific Depot, showcasing various items and intriguing photographs from the long-standing salt mining industry in the region. While only one salt mine remains operational today, the Independent Salt Company continues to produce halite for various industrial applications.

Great burgers and fries. Nothing fancy about this place but you're not going for the atmosphere you're going for the burgers and fries!
