About Midian Shrine Midian Shrine Center is an organization of Shrine Masons who believe in the Fatherhood of God, Brotherhood of Man, and Charity to those in need. The Center is affiliated with Imperial Council, Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of Mystic Shrine (AAONMS ) for North America and supports the Shriners Hospitals for Children.Midian Shrine Center was founded in 1909. The derivation of the word Midian is a biblical name for a part of northwest Arabia. It also alludes to the meaning of middle, which describes location of the organization in the approximate middle of the United States. Midian consists of 14 Shrine Clubs mini centers which are located in communities outside of Wichita. They provide members with a meeting place, as well as an opportunity to remain active in those programs and services of Midian Shrine Center and Shrine of North America. The organization also offers 43 Units, or special interest groups for members. The units give members a chance to pursue common interests, such as clowning, horseback riding, music, sports like bowling, parades, motorized cars, go-carts and cycles, and many other interests.
