Dr. Sharon Ben-Or is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. She earned her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and completed her residency in general surgery at Lankenau Hospital and her residency in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of North Carolina Hospitals.

Ashley Simmons, MD was named medical director of The University of Kansas Hospital's Adelaide C. Ward Women's Heart Health Center, the gateway to women's heart health services, when it opened in 2012. In addition to specializing in women's heart disease, Dr. Simmons' clinical focus includes echocardiography, cardiac CT and MRI, and clinical/consultative/diagnostic cardiology. Dr. Simmons completed her undergraduate work at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, where she received honors in biology.
