Rodrigue Fontem, MD - CommonSpirit General Surgery Siena

Rodrigue Rod Fontem, MD, works as a team with his patients to arrive at the best treatment plan for their specific needs. As a colorectal and general surgeon, Dr. Fontem treats patients with a variety of conditions including colon cancer, diverticular disease, stoma complications, pilonidal disease, and more. He performs procedures like small bowel resections, cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal), hernia repair, and sacral nerve stimulator placement. Dr. Fontem attended Garden City Community College and Olivet Nazarene University for his undergraduate studies. He then went on to complete medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed an internship at the University of Texas in Houston and a residency at St. Lukes University Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Dr. Fontem also completed a colorectal surgery fellowship at Southern Illinois University.Some of Dr. Fontems hobbies include soccer, traveling, and spending time with his family.
