The counselor will lead you through an Assessment based on the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria, as well as the SASSI and other testing. Sims-Kemper provides evidence-based treatment, known to be successful. Emphasis is on the cognitive/behavioral and other research-based approaches. Kansas Certified Peer Mentors employed by Sims-Kemper help clients establish safety and connect to community resources for healthy living. This includes assistance with bridging the gap between treatment and 12-Step groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and Gamblers Anonymous. Testing for substances is a therapeutic tool used randomly during the course of treatment to assist in maintaining continuous sobriety and clean time.
