Pawnee Mental Health Services, based in Junction City, Kan., is a nonprofit community mental health center that offers a range of services to patients and their families. The counselor will lead you through an Assessment based on the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria, as well as the SASSI and other testing. Kansas Certified Peer Mentors employed by Sims-Kemper help clients establish safety and connect to community resources for healthy living. This includes assistance with bridging the gap between treatment and 12-Step groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and Gamblers Anonymous. Testing for substances is a therapeutic tool used randomly during the course of treatment to assist in maintaining continuous sobriety and clean time.
