Oxford House is a concept in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, characterized by democratically run, self-supporting, and drug-free homes. Established in 1975, it serves as a remarkably effective and low-cost method for preventing relapse, with over 2,500 houses across the United States today.

Each Oxford House accommodates between six to fifteen residents and includes separate houses for men, women, and those with children. The organization operates under the umbrella of Oxford House Inc., a publicly supported nonprofit that connects all houses and allocates resources to replicate the Oxford House model where needed.
