Mount Sunflower, situated in Weskan, Kansas, is a notable landmark that stands as the highest natural point in the state. Rising to an elevation of 4,039 feet, it towers over the flat landscape, offering a unique perspective of the surrounding terrain. This "summit" is located on private land owned by Ed and Cindy Harold, who warmly welcome visitors to experience this elevated spot.

Visitors to Mount Sunflower can enjoy various amenities on-site, including a charming picnic table, a quaint little free library, and a striking sunflower sculpture crafted from railroad spikes. A plaque at the site humorously states, "On this site in 1897, nothing happened," adding a touch of whimsy to the visit. Additionally, guests can leave their mark by signing a registration book placed inside a mailbox, sharing details about their visit.

To reach the summit, visitors navigate county dirt roads before crossing a cattle guard and proceeding along a private dirt road through a cattle grazing pasture. As the highest point in Kansas officially recognized by the United States Geological Survey, Mount Sunflower holds historical significance, with Ed Harold's efforts in the late 1970s further immortalizing this unique location. The site's most renowned attraction, the sunflower sculpture, adds an artistic flair to the natural beauty of the area.
