Mental Health Association

Kansas Children's Service League is a private, nonprofit agency that serves children and families through a network of offices and affiliates in Kansas. Founded in 1893, the league provides a range of programs and services, advocates for children, and collaborates with other public and private agencies to increase effectiveness. Its services include adoption assistance, case management, child abuse prevention, parent education and conducting counseling sessions for children and families. Kansas Children's Service League is a member of the Child Welfare League of America and the Kansas chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America. It is accredited by the Council on Accreditation. The Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1957 and serves the Sedgwick County community in Kansas. It offers a wide variety of services, including problem solving, medication monitoring and assistance with activities of daily living, such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, meal management, laundry and grooming. The mental health association s services also include case management, crisis support, providing employment and educational opportunities, finance management and psychosocial programs. It also offers early intervention and violence prevention programs, recreational and social activities, and chemical dependency, and advocacy and support services. It is a United Way agency that is associated with the National Mental Health Association and is an affiliate of Sedgwick County COMCARE. The organization is located in Wichita, Kan., and is approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
