All four started working at Breck's Tire for S.L. "Breck" Breckenridge, they all grew up working for "Breck" who was a former employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber, starting his business in Emporia in 1971. He retired in 1996. After Breckenridge's death, Reed and his partners decided to go out on their own.
