Established in 1911, Bethany Home is a nonprofit, Christ-centered residential community, offering assisted and independent living services to the elderly. The facilities of the home include cottages, a library and activities center. The home provides a wide range of services, including nursing care, physical therapy, housekeeping, laundry and dietary services, and assistance in life skills. The activities of the community include celebrations of special events, such as birthdays and anniversaries, concerts and recitals and choir, and exercise and ceramics classes. It also provides worship, Bible studies and chapel services, and a barbershop and beauty salon. The residents also play games, such as scrabble, dominoes, checkers, jigsaw puzzles, pool and cards. Its library provides large print books, biographies, devotional books, fiction and nonfiction, and Swedish language books and audio cassettes. Located in Lindsborg, Kansas, Bethany Home is owned and operated by the Missouri-Kansas Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
