TThe Shawnee Mission West High School offers classes from grades nine through 12. Its parent resource center organizes workshops for guardians and parent of children with special needs. Its workshops addresses concerns, such as potential benefits, legal considerations, transition planning, residential options, employment opportunities, recreational choices and family communications. The school also operates an individualized learning program that encourages students with academic problems to take advantage of free after-school tutoring. Founded in 1955, Stout Elementary School offers a variety of academic and extracurricular services to more than 200 students in kindergarten through grade five.
