Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is one of the world s largest tire companies. It manufactures tires, engineered rubber products and chemicals in more than 90 facilities in nearly 30 countries throughout the world. Goodyear employs approximately 75,000 people. Goodyear manufacturers and markets tires, several lines of belts, hose and other engineered rubber products for the transportation industry and various industrial and consumer markets, as well as rubber-related chemicals for various applications. The company was founded in 1898 and had 13 full-time workers through the turn of the century. Today, Goodyear measures sales in the billions of dollars and operates in numerous facilities throughout the world, including a tire branch in Topeka, Kan., and is headquartered in Akron, Ohio.
