Fort Dodge Kansas Soldiers' Home, located approximately five miles east of Dodge City, Kansas, is the oldest permanent settlement in the area, originally established as a military fort in 1865. After its decommissioning in 1882, the site was repurposed in 1890 as the Kansas State Soldiers Home, providing long-term care for U.S. service veterans.
Spanning 752 acres, the campus features a library, museum, and various historic buildings, including the 1866 Army Quartermaster building and the 1902 Fort Dodge Chapel.
