Hamilton County, located in the southwestern part of Kansas, was named after Alexander Hamilton and covers an area of 996 square miles, approximately three-quarters the size of Rhode Island. With a strong agricultural base, eighty-seven percent of its land is utilized for farming, focusing mainly on livestock and wheat production.
