Bridges of Hope
Bridges of Hope is a monthly service project in downtown Kansas City, Kansas, where volunteers from Basehor UMC partner with Central United Methodist Church to provide a hot home-cooked meal to those who are homeless or food insecure. They serve lunch to nearly 120 people on the first Sunday of every month, and volunteers are needed to serve the meal and clean up afterwards.
Additionally, volunteers are also needed to prepare the casseroles that are served, and cooking pans, ingredients, and detailed instructions are provided. Families are encouraged to volunteer together, and children under the age of 13 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Currently, they are serving To Go lunches to those in need, offering a safe, no-touch volunteer opportunity.
