Area Mental Health Center

Founded in 1961, the Area Mental Health Center offers behavioral health services for the residents of southwest Kansas. It operates a team of psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, registered nurses, and marriage and family therapists. The Area Mental Health Center offers family, group, marital and couple therapies. The center provides case management and nursing services. It additionally offers medication and stress management options. The center provides 24-hour emergency screenings, as well as domestic violence offender programs. It manages a 12-plus-bed behavioral health unit at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kan. The Area Mental Health Center maintains a location in Ulysses, Kan.
